Concrete planning guide

A useful handover between plumber and concrete repairer

An opened floor often needs more than one trade before it can be closed. A clear handover records what is ready and what remains unresolved.

What to record

  • Identify the opening, pipe route and intended floor use.
  • Ask for the relevant plumbing completion documentation before the concrete closure is planned.
  • Photograph the opening safely without stepping on loose edges or exposed services.

The decision to discuss

Define who verifies service work, fill, slab detail and final surface. Closing the opening should not conceal an unresolved trade question. Keep the responsibility for plumbing performance distinct from the concrete closure.

Why the surrounding context matters

Joints can serve different purposes in a concrete assembly. The work should identify the actual junction and how the retained surfaces relate to it. A filled line and a functioning joint are different observations; ask for the intended detail before approving the finish.
