Concrete planning guide

Does a smooth concrete finish mean the repair is complete?

Appearance is one part of a project. Completion should be assessed against the actual scope, protection requirements and agreed functional objectives.

What to record

  • Review the work boundary, transitions and care instructions with the approved proposal.
  • Save dated photographs before normal use resumes.
  • Keep any later drainage or seasonal observations identified by their actual dates.

The decision to discuss

Ask whether any review or return-to-use stage remains. A smooth photograph does not prove bond, capacity, drainage or long-term performance. Document the completed work without adding outcomes that were not tested.

Why the surrounding context matters

New concrete needs appropriate moisture and temperature conditions while it develops its intended properties. Repair products also have their own protection requirements. The actual installed system and use should determine the care and reopening discussion rather than a generic calendar rule.
