Repair a chipped corner without losing the real boundary

A small corner loss deserves a scope that accounts for the surrounding sound concrete and the traffic at that edge. The missing piece alone is not the complete repair area.

What to record

  • Show the corner from above and the side, including the adjacent joint and walking route.
  • Note whether the break is new or growing.
  • Avoid pulling attached pieces away just to make a sharper photograph.

The decision to discuss

Ask how the edge will be prepared and how the repair will be protected during early use. If deterioration extends beneath the visible corner, the proposed boundary may need review. Cosmetic filling alone may not address the underlying condition.

Why the surrounding context matters

Exterior concrete can be exposed to water and freezing conditions. Surface loss needs review alongside that exposure, but appearance alone does not establish its cause. Keep the physical condition, water observations and proposed maintenance changes separately recorded.
